DORA

Vivienda y Comunidades Sustentables expresses its commitment to the principles of the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA), an international initiative that promotes responsible, transparent, and equitable practices for the assessment of research and its outputs.

In accordance with these principles, the journal recognizes that the quality and relevance of a scholarly contribution should be assessed primarily on the basis of its content, methodological rigor, originality, relevance, and contribution to knowledge, rather than relying exclusively on bibliometric indicators associated with the journal or publication venue.

In this regard, Vivienda y Comunidades Sustentables undertakes the following commitments:

  • To promote the assessment of manuscripts based on their quality, scientific rigor, originality, relevance, and contribution to the field of study.
  • To recognize the diversity of research outputs, products, and forms of contribution, as well as their potential scientific, social, environmental, cultural, and territorial impact.
  • To foster transparent and responsible editorial and peer-review practices aimed at strengthening scholarly communication.
  • To promote open access, academic integrity, and good practices in the production, assessment, and dissemination of knowledge.
  • To encourage research assessment practices that acknowledge disciplinary diversity and the different contexts in which knowledge is produced and applied.

The adoption of these principles forms part of Vivienda y Comunidades Sustentables commitment to strengthening its editorial policies and promoting open, ethical, and responsible scholarly communication.

The journal will continue to review and strengthen its editorial practices in accordance with DORA principles and international developments in responsible research assessment.
