Focus and scope

Housing and Sustainable Communities scientific journal open to the international community, aimed at specialists, researchers, postgraduate students and academics. Receive articles on completed scientific research or its advances, on topics related to housing, cities, sustainable communities, rural settlements, territory and technologies from the perspective of social sciences, architecture, urban planning, engineering and design, for being a multidisciplinary journal, where theoretical, conceptual or practical discussion is addressed, with new approaches and original and frontier knowledge, with the aim of disseminating and sharing knowledge on these issues, to those interested in sustainable housing and its urban context. and territorial. The editorial structure of the journal includes scientific research articles and a section for book reviews.

Housing and Sustainable Communities edited and financed by the University of Guadalajara and the National Laboratory of Housing and Sustainable Communities, is a biannual publication, open access, in PDF edition format, identifying each work with a DOI (Digital Object Identifier System) . Documents in Spanish or English are accepted and will be subject to double-blind and peer review.

Fee: There are no charges for the delivery, dictation, publication or any other editorial process of the documents.

Sustainable Housing and Communities maintains codes of ethics for reviewers, authors, and publishers based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) codes to those of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Magazine Description

Housing and Sustainable Communities, is a space for disseminating original scientific and technological knowledge on housing and sustainable communities, which considers this binomial as a complex object of study, whose processes have an important impact on the processes of the city and the territory, therefore its study can be carried out from different disciplines and with different scopes, from its study as an area of ​​knowledge that requires attention from the industrial sector, which needs to be considered as a fundamental human right and as an opportunity to contribute to sustainability in its different meanings and scales, urban and territorial intervention. This magazine seeks to generate a space for the dissemination of knowledge, with an innovative, plural, experimental and multidisciplinary approach, and is linked to the National Laboratory for Sustainable Housing and Communities Conacyt, as part of an editorial strategy.

Duties of the editorial team

 

Editor

The Editor is mainly responsible for the supervision of all areas for the production of the magazine, both editorial, legal and dissemination. In addition, he is the one who convenes the Editorial Committee and is in contact with both the Scientific Committee and the reviewers and collaborators.

 

Board of Directors and Editorial Committee

 The functions of the Board of Directors and the Editorial Committee are mainly aimed at taking responsibility for the quality and diversity of the content (originality, relevance, sections); select the referees and the Scientific Committee; and monitor compliance with editorial policies. Likewise, it supports the functions of the editorial team and collaborates directly with the Editor. Currently, the Board of Directors is made up of 5 researchers who in turn represent the 5 regional directorates of each headquarters of the National Laboratory for Housing and Sustainable Communities, Conacyt (University of Guadalajara, National Autonomous University of Mexico, Autonomous University of Chiapas, University of Sonora and Autonomous University of Ciudad Juarez).

 

Scientific Committee

 The Scientific Committee on Housing and Sustainable Communities is made up of specialists in the epistemological domain addressed by the journal, of recognized national and international prestige, with a track record in academic, research or dissemination activities, and they usually form part of the National System of Researchers or its equivalent. The members of the Scientific Committee are collaborators of National or International Institutions. The Scientific Committee supports tasks such as ruling on articles, consultation on editorial aspects, and can support the dissemination of the contents of the journal.
