Plagiarism Detection

Vivienda y Comunidades Sustentables uses iThenticate, a specialized similarity detection software, to strengthen academic integrity and prevent unethical practices in scientific publishing.

All submitted manuscripts are screened using this software before entering the peer review process in order to identify similarities with previously published works and verify the proper attribution of cited sources.

If significant similarities are detected or potential publication misconduct is identified, the Editorial Committee will evaluate each case in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Depending on the nature and severity of the issue, the manuscript may be returned to the authors for clarification or revision, or it may be rejected. If an irregularity is identified after publication, the journal will proceed in accordance with its Retraction and Corrections Policy.
