Digital Preservation

Open Journal Systems is compatible with the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system, which guarantees a permanent and secure archive for the journal. LOCKSS is an open-source program developed by Stanford University Library, designed to allow libraries to preserve electronic journals. This system performs periodic searches of registered journals to collect and archive newly published content. Each file is validated against the records of other libraries, ensuring that, in the event of loss or damage to content, it can be restored using those records.
