The rural architecture and construction of the Huasteca region in San Luis Potosí is a constructive tradition inherited from pre-Hispanic times and is fundamental in the way of life of indigenous communities, as their traditions and activities determine how they conceive space for their habitat. This work analyzes what constitutes the constructive tradition of housing conceptually, to determine the main characteristics of Huasteca construction. An analysis of photographic records of rural homes located in different communities of the Huasteca Potosina was carried out to determine the essential characteristics of its construction system. The purpose of this is to determine how this constructive tradition can contribute to improving the quality of life of its occupants under sustainability criteria.Metrics
